Hello! I am Arn Ly-Jie L. Dela Cerna. They call me "Ally" since my first name is kind of hard to pronounce.
I am a graduate of Senior High School under the academic track of Humanities and Social Sciences. This field has made me learn about economics, history, politics and governance, and creative writing. We wrote lots of essays because English is one of our steering subjects. I could say that this has honed my writing skills, since we used to study some articles in law and write reflections about them.
Next would be my hobbies. I like to read books, write short stories, and sing. I have been fond of reading e-books and novels. I have learned most of my English phrases from books rather than from my English teacher. I could say I am an imaginative person--I like to create scenarios and story plots in my head and write them down on paper. I have written several short stories that aren't finished yet. In singing, most of my family members love to sing, and so do I.
I don't have prior experience in teaching. However, I came to love teaching because of my students. There is no more fulfilling feeling than hearing my students say "Thank you!" before bedding goodbye. I do not aim for perfection from them. The last thing that I want them to feel is the pressure. I believe that they are smart and capable. I would go to lengths in teaching, just to provide them with visuals to understand. I do not mind repeating the same instructions over and over again. Hence, I think it's also important to be innovative in explaining and showing them more realistic visual clues rather than solely relying on the book. I teach my students with great patience and understanding. Every day, my goal is for them to express themselves more in the class than to get a perfect score in our lessons.
